
Evidence-informed Professional Perspectives
BARA position statements communicate the Association’s considered scientific and professional perspective on important topics relevant to regenerative andrology.
They are intended to support education, responsible professional discussion, patient safety and the appropriate interpretation of emerging scientific and clinical evidence.
Development of Position Statements
A BARA position statement may be developed in response to:

an emerging clinical or scientific issue;

uncertainty or variation in professional practice;

significant developments in research or technology;
-
a need for clearer professional communication;
-
patient-safety or governance concerns;
-
recommendations from the Scientific and Clinical Council;
-
requests from members, professional organisations or research collaborators.
Depending on the subject, development may involve:

review of the available scientific literature;
-
evidence mapping or systematic review;
-
multidisciplinary expert consultation;
-
declarations and management of interests;
-
external peer or stakeholder review;
-
formal approval under BARA’s governance process;
-
scheduled review and updating
Types of Publication
BARA may publish:

formal position statements;
-
consensus statements;
-
expert perspectives;
-
evidence summaries;
-
professional advisories;
-
research-priority statements;
-
terminology or outcome recommendations;
-
statements on responsible innovation and clinical governance.
Each document will identify its purpose, development process, evidence base, authorship, date and review status.
Independence and Transparency
Contributors must declare relevant financial, commercial, scientific, academic and professional interests.
Sponsors, donors and commercial partners may not control:

the conclusions of a statement;
-
the interpretation of evidence;
-
contributor selection;
-
editorial decisions;
-
final approval;
-
future revision or withdrawal.
Any external funding or administrative support will be disclosed clearly.
Status of Position Statements
BARA position statements are intended to support professional education and informed decision-making.
They do not replace:

statutory or regulatory requirements;
-
formal clinical guidelines issued by recognised authorities;
-
individual clinical judgement;
-
local clinical-governance policies;
-
appropriate professional training;
-
ethical or research approval.
Where evidence is limited or based partly on expert consensus, this will be stated explicitly.

Suggest a Position Statement
BARA members and professional collaborators may propose topics for future consideration.
Proposals should explain:

the issue to be addressed;
-
its relevance to regenerative andrology;
-
the clinical or scientific need;
-
the available evidence;
-
the intended professional audience.
All proposals are subject to prioritisation, available expertise and approval through BARA’s governance process.
