Eligibility and Membership Categories

Full Professional Member

£350 / year

Full Professional Membership is intended for established and appropriately qualified professionals working in a field relevant to BARA in the United Kingdom.

​

This category may include:

​

• urologists and andrologists;

• medical practitioners and surgeons;

• fertility and reproductive medicine specialists;

• sexual medicine practitioners;

• scientists and researchers;

• regulated healthcare professionals;

• senior educators and recognised professional experts.

​

Applicants may be asked to provide evidence of their qualifications, professional registration, current role or relevant professional activity.

​

Full Professional Members will normally be eligible to vote, subject to BARA’s governing documents and approved membership framework.

​

Associate Professional Member

£250 / year

​

​

​

Associate Professional Membership is intended for individuals practicing in the United Kingdom whose professional work supports or relates to regenerative andrology but who may not meet the criteria for Full Professional Membership.

​

This category may include:

​

• nurses and allied healthcare professionals;

• psychologists and psychosexual therapists;

• laboratory and diagnostic professionals;

• medical educators;

• healthcare managers;

• regulatory, governance and scientific professionals;

• other individuals with relevant professional experience.

​

Voting status will be determined in accordance with BARA’s Articles and membership rules.

​

Trainee Member

£150 / year

​

​

​

Trainee Membership is intended for individuals undertaking recognised clinical, scientific, academic or professional training in a relevant field.

​

This category may include:

​

• medical students;

• resident doctors and specialty trainees;

• fellows;

• postgraduate and doctoral researchers;

• trainee scientists;

• early-career allied healthcare professionals.

​

Applicants may be asked to provide evidence of their current training programme, institution, supervisor or professional status.

​

Trainee Membership is designed to support education, mentorship, research participation and early-career development.

​

International Member (Full Professional / Associate Professional / Trainee)

£500 / year

​

​

International Membership is intended for eligible professionals based outside the United Kingdom who support BARA’s mission and wish to participate in its scientific, educational and collaborative activities.

Applicants should demonstrate relevant clinical, academic, scientific or professional experience.

​

International Members may participate in BARA’s educational programmes, working groups and professional network, subject to the applicable membership rules.

​

Voting status will be determined in accordance with BARA’s governing documents.

​

Institutional Member

£1000 / year

​

​

​

Institutional Membership is intended for eligible organisations that share BARA’s commitment to education, research, professional standards and responsible innovation.

​

This category may include:

​

• universities;

• research institutions;

• hospitals and healthcare organisations;

• professional bodies;

• educational providers;

• laboratories;

• multidisciplinary clinical organisations.

​

Institutional Membership does not provide commercial control, preferential scientific influence or additional voting power.

​

It does not constitute endorsement of an institution’s services, treatments, products or commercial activities.

​

Honorary Membership or Fellowship

Complimentary

​

​

​

Honorary Membership or Fellowship may be awarded to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to andrology, urology, sexual medicine, fertility, regenerative medicine, research, education or professional leadership.

​

Honorary recognition is granted through an approved BARA process and cannot ordinarily be obtained through direct application.

 

Honorary status does not automatically confer voting rights or governance authority.

​

General eligibility requirements

Applicants are expected to:

​

• support BARA’s mission, objects and core values;

• provide accurate and complete professional information;

• maintain any professional or regulatory registration relevant to their role;

• declare relevant financial, commercial, scientific and professional interests;

• comply with BARA’s Articles, policies and Code of Conduct;

• use BARA membership designations responsibly;

• contribute respectfully to the Association’s professional community.

BARA may verify qualifications, regulatory registration, institutional affiliation and other relevant information where appropriate.

​​

Application Review

​

Applications may be approved, deferred, declined or approved under a different membership category.

​

Further information may be requested where:

​

• eligibility information is incomplete;

• qualifications or professional status cannot be verified;

• relevant conflicts of interest have not been disclosed;

• there are significant professional, regulatory or reputational concerns;

• another membership category is considered more appropriate.

​

All applications will be assessed fairly, proportionately and in accordance with BARA’s governing documents.

​

​

BARA may recommend or approve the category that best reflects the applicant’s qualifications, experience and professional status.
